Description:
Technology has changed not just how, but also where, lawyers practice law today. Can lawyers practice in a jurisdiction where they are not licensed? Whether a lawyer's presence is physical or virtual, it will almost certainly be affected by multijurisdictional issues. This program will look at the ethics and malpractice risks of crossing state lines with an analysis of ABA Ethics Opinion 495, Lawyers Working Remotely, and Formal Opinion 504, Choice of Law, as well as state ethics opinions, and hypothetical scenarios to probe practical issues lawyers face in the modern legal practice landscape.
