Message from the President

Well… it is that time again ALREADY to start transitioning to a new and exciting year with ALA Gateway and a new Board!  I can’t believe how fast my Presidency went by.  It has truly been a rewarding and most of all a learning experience.  I am so lucky that I had the opportunity to lead this amazing Chapter side-by-side with awesome people. 

I am looking forward to some amazing events that are coming up soon, starting with the ALA Annual Conference and Expo next month.  This year’s Annual Conference is taking place April 14^th – 17^th in Grapevine, Texas.  The Gateway Chapter has an exciting 18 members attending conference this year.  This year’s conference will bring 70 educational sessions, 12 different Idea Exchanges, 17 hours of networking and more than 150 Business Partners and Solutions. 

While you are at conference expanding your knowledge, please make sure to take some time to get to know our Business Partners.  Not only do Business Partners make our Association possible, they provide us with services and solutions to our daily challenges.  Anything from providing office supplies up to providing practice management solutions.  You can find solutions to all your challenges and a complete list of the 2019 Exhibitors at all the upcoming conferences here, https://legalmarketplace.alanet.org/.

The Gateway Chapter has been busy the past few months.  In December, the Gateway Chapter hosted our Annual Holiday Party where members, along with our Business Partners competed in an Ugly Sweater Contest.  We had outstanding participation and a lot of fun networking and showing off our ugly sweaters. 

And just a little over a week ago, we hosted one of our favorite events of the year, the Business Partner Appreciation event.  This year the event was held at Pieces where we played board games and enjoyed some valuable time appreciating and networking with our Business Partners. 

Also, during the Business Partner Appreciation event we voted on our incoming slate of Officers.  I can’t wait to see what our new Officers and Board have in store for us in 2019!

If you’re curious about the bunny ears, the Board and Committee Chairs wore them at our Annual Business Partner Appreciation event to promote and remind everyone of our upcoming Annual Gateway Chapter Bunny Hop that benefits local children’s charities by providing them with 2600 Easter baskets filled with goodies.  Please save the date of March 29^th for this rewarding event!
