2015 Summer President's Update

Hi everyone: This weather is really confusing me, I can’t decide if we’re in the Amazon Rain Forest or the Mojave Desert. Summer is flying by; we’ve had lots of Gateway ALA activities thus far and have even more lined up for the rest of the year.
Our next major event and one you will not want to miss is the ALA Legal Management Forum and Business Solutions Marketplace which will take place on August 20, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel. In supporting and giving back to the community we live, this year’s event will include a Veterans Job Fair in the morning. Look for additional information in your email and on the website. The Legal Forum brings together our many business partners along with high energy and high quality educational sessions and finally networking with our peers.

Big news came from International ALA on July 24, when they announced details of ALA’s rebranding efforts. September will be busy also with our regular monthly meeting and our Business Skills Seminar at Saint Louis University. Please keep an eye on the Gateway website (ala-gateway.org) for more information on the upcoming events. Also, check out the International ALA website for many invaluable items including the dates for the Fall Business of Law Conferences. (alanet.org).
The Gateway Chapter Board and I are off to Grand Rapids. Michigan in late July for the Chapter Leadership Institute, we hope to bring back some more great ideas for our chapter. Stay Dry and Cool.
