Lights…Camera…Action!   The Gateway Chapter Board Retreat was held on April 2nd where we immediately went to work on our script for the year. Our focus centers on education, visibility, community and alliance this year. Our first mini-series contains our April and May events and endeavors. April continued with the 17th Annual Bunny Hop where 103 members and business partners prepared 1,980 Easter Baskets. It was a fun and rewarding day! Fred Esposito spoke to our members about Alternative Fee Arrangements, and Michelle Martin coordinated a training session for the Mound City Bar Association on Trust Accounting Ethics with the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel at the Missouri Bar Foundation.

The month of May began with the Gateway board, and many extended board members making a trip to Kansas City to meet with the Kansas City Chapter on May 2nd for the Third Annual Statewide Leadership Summit. We shared many ideas with KCALA! The Gateway Chapter will be participating in the SPA Paralegal Day on May 9th.   We are very excited to support our paralegals in their educational sessions! On May 14th, Maureen McCourt Boylan will be speaking to our group about Persuasive Writing for Legal Administrators: Communicate the “Write” Way. This is sure to help with our script!

Stay tuned as we continue to tweak our script throughout the year. There is always room for improvement as the legal industry is forever changing. We will be there for you every step of the way! It’s sure to be an exciting year!

Your Executive Director,
Lisa Waligorski, CLM
